medicalforce Inc. adopts Adyen's seamless payment platform
“medicalforce”, an all-in-one SaaS for clinics, boosts efficiency by automatically links in-person payments with accounting information in clinical records
Adyen, the global financial technology platform of choice for leading businesses, is pleased to announce that our payment platform has been adopted by medicalforce, an all-in-one SaaS for clinics provided by medicalforce Inc. By linking medicalforce's accounting information with Adyen POS terminals, clinics can significantly boost the efficiency of their in-person payment operations.
An all-in-one SaaS primarily designed for dermatology, plastic surgery and cosmetic clinics, medicalforce is equipped with a variety of functions along the clinics’ business flow, including electronic medical records, reservation management, accounting, payment, and inventory management. It supports optimal clinic management through functions such as efficient appointment management and accounting, as well as LINE integration and optimization of appointment slots. It has been introduced at more than 550 clinics nationwide, and is ranked No. 1* in the “number of clinics using it as an electronic medical record”.
Previously, medicalforce only provided an online payments function in which patients registered their credit card information in advance, and clinic staff linked the payment manually. The old system also did not support in-person payments, despite requests for "support of in-person payments using a POS terminal when patients pay with credit cards at the clinic."
As medicalforce Inc. considered a new terminal payment function to meet the needs of clinics using the system, the following advantages were decisive factors in adopting Adyen's payment platform, and automatic integration of accounting and payment information between medicalforce and Adyen's POS terminals proceeded.
Easy development through API integration: Seamless integration into existing medicalforce platform
Shorten the time to implementation: Superior execution speed from development to testing
Robust security measures to prevent and detect fraud: Security is essential for free medical care, which often involves expensive credit card payments
Extensive global implementation record: Adyen's domestic and international implementation record directly contributes to trust
This automatic integration enables accounting information on medicalforce to be sent to the POS terminal with a single click for payment processing, reducing the time required to input the amount of payment into the payment terminal and preventing human error. In addition, since the entire payment history can be checked in the medicalforce, it also contributes to the centralization of clinic business management.
In addition to in-person payments, the company plans to consider enhancing its online payment functionality using the Adyen platform on medicalforce, and to propose implementation to dermatology, plastic surgery, and cosmetic clinics across Japan.
Shoichi Hatanaka, CEO of medicalforce Inc. said, "Through medicalforce, we have been helping clinics improve their overall operational efficiency, including reservations, accounting, and electronic medical records. With the newly released “terminal payment” function, cashless payment at clinics, which was previously limited to online payment, can now be smoothly processed in person as well. This function was developed based on the feedback we received from staff members on site suggesting that linking to POS terminals would reduce the risk of inputting amounts and human error, and through our collaboration with Adyen, we realized a system that is both highly reliable and convenient. We will continue to listen to the voices of those working in the field and provide solutions that simultaneously reduce workload and optimize management through technology.
Adam Brownstein, Adyen's Japan Country Manager, said, "We are very pleased that medicalforce Inc. has chosen Adyen's platform to integrate with the accounting information in their all-in-one SaaS for clinics, medicalforce, to automate in-person payments at clinics. Our payment platform features easy connection to POS systems through API integration, which shortens the time required to introduce the platform. Our track record of adoption in Japan and overseas and the trust we have built up were also decisive factors in their decision to choose Adyen. We will continue to contribute to the further streamlining of clinic operations by providing a payment platform including terminals.”
